How do I engage?

There are a couple of ways you can be engaged with CAP.

Tech at Work Sponsor a CAP Student

  • This can be a current employee that you believe has potential in your organization and would like to sponsor him/her into CAP.

  • Another option is to sponsor a CAP student that has already contacted a CAP college and is looking for a sponsoring dealership. The college can make arrangements for you to interview potential CAP candidates that are currently available.
  • Another option is to sponsor a friend or family member that you believe has potential and you would like to have them join your team. Sponsoring him/her into CAP is an excellent way to start.

If you are looking to sponsor a more mature student than a high school graduate into CAP, the military veteran is an excellent option for CAP. In addition, all military veterans have access to the GIBILL which can be used toward their CAP college education.

Chrysler LLC has launched the military hiring resource initiative that includes a dedicated Military Hiring Resource under the “Honoring Those Who Serve” initiative that will allow Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships to post open position and search resumes of military veterans and their spouses.

More information regarding the military initiative can be found on DealerCONNECT as well as at www.chryslerllc.com (Honoring Those Who Serve section).

College Advisory Board

college Advisory Board If sponsoring a CAP student is out of the question at this time, the second way to get involved with CAP is to become a member of the CAP Advisory Board at the CAP college of your choice. Each CAP College maintains a CAP Advisory Board comprised of dealer representatives, students, corporate personnel and college administration. The purpose of the Advisory Board is to determine the direction in which CAP should move in relation to core curriculum, developed curricular content, and the order in which various subjects are studied within the curriculum to promote continuous program improvement.

This is a great way to get involved and at the same time get familiar with CAP at a specific college. CAP Advisory Board involvement is one way to ensure that the CAP college is providing you with employees that meet your needs in a timely fashion.

We have found that colleges having active advisory boards and sponsoring dealers that integrate the subjects learned at the college with the work being completed during each student internship period are the most successful programs.

CAP college contact information (CAP coordinator name, email & phone) is located in the college section of the website (colleges tab). Your local District Service Manager can also provide you with CAP college contact information.
