"When I decided to pursue a career in Automotive Technology I was unsure of where I would end up in ten years, or even if this was the right career for me. In the short time I have been attending Chrysler's College Automotive Program (CAP) at Arapahoe Community College I have realized that this is the career I have been looking for.
As you know one of the requirements for this program is securing and maintaining employment in the auto service industry. I knew I wanted to work on Jeep and Dodge vehicles, so I applied at several dealerships. I was hired at Broadway Dodge about six months ago and I couldn’t ask for a better place to be.
Between classes at Arapahoe Community College and working at Broadway Dodge I have learned more about cars and trucks, specifically diesels than I would have ever thought possible. I am working under a great mentor, Sean Lank, who goes out of his way to not only show me how to repair a truck, but also to understand how everything works.
I don’t think I would be in the position I am in now if it weren’t for the CAP program. I would probably still be working a dead-end job and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Instead I am working as an apprentice at the newest Dodge Dealership (newest building anyway) in the state and working with a great mentor pursuing a career that I enjoy. For me it would not have been possible without CAP at Arapahoe Community College."
