Course Schedules

During the two years the student attends CAP, the student alternates between two learning locations, the college and a sponsoring dealership. The first term is generally at the college, where classroom and shop instruction cover specific areas of automotive and repair as well as required academic courses. While at college, the emphasis in the classroom is on knowledge and skill, rather than speed.

The next term of college is typically completed at a sponsoring dealer internship. During the internship period (internship length varies by college), the student applies the knowledge and skills learned in college with on-the-job experiences. While at the dealership, the student works under the guidance of a master (mentor) technician, gaining valuable experience in those areas of automotive technology most recently studied while at college. The emphasis during the internship is on building accuracy and speed.

college and internship duration may differ for each semester/quarter at each college. Refer to CAP college of your choice for specific student schedules, internship lengths and college requirements.
