The automotive industry as a whole has worked with several education organizations for many years. Organizations like Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and SkillsUSA are just a few examples. In addition, Chrysler’s “Financial” and “In-Kind” investment in the public education system is substantial every year.

While schools with automotive service programs that are certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education (NATEF) are considered to be one of the best by the automotive industry. Chrysler requires that schools with automotive programs maintain their NATEF certification to be eligible for donations from Chrysler LLC.

Automotive service program support begins in high school. The Automotive Youth Education System (AYES) is an industry led initiative that is a partnership between automotive manufacturers, participating dealers, and selected high school/tech prep colleges.

AYES is designed to encourage young people to consider careers in the automotive service industry and prepare them for advanced post-secondary studies in automotive technology.

Donations

CAP colleges not only receive the latest vehicle and component donations to support CAP at their college, they also receive electronic service information, diagnostic scan tools, corporate instructor guides and student reference information (same as used to train current dealership technicians).

Classroom Instruction In addition, CAP instructors are kept-up-to-date on the latest technology and procedures through ongoing Chrysler technical training and instructor certification processes. The excellent in-depth training offered by the program prepares graduates for a bright career and future in the automotive service industry.

This level of CAP support continues annually to ensure that each college has the most current model vehicles/technologies, components, special tools, instructor guide updates, electronic service information and diagnostic equipment to enhance the overall learning experience for each CAP student.

Many of the tools used by CAP students while in the classroom are also used in their sponsoring dealerships.

CAP Charger To increase overall CAP awareness among today’s young people CAP has sponsored an NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driven by Bobby Martin for over 13 years. Through the CAP racing initiative, CAP has touched thousands of potential CAP students, parents, siblings, dealer employees and college representatives.

The end result is CAP represents a considerable investment by Chrysler and the end product is CAP graduates who have received the most extensive training from the best colleges, with the best equipment, and are in a position of fixing their customers Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles the first time and every time!
