CAP Testimonial
Mike Jones 1999 CAP Graduate Sinclair Community College
"I was working in grounds and maintenance for an apartment complex.
I did not have an automotive background and I wanted to learn new skills that would benefit me not only career wise, but also give me skills I could apply outside the job, such as repairing my own vehicles. I figured even if I was not working as an automobile technician in 20 years, I would still have the knowledge to maintain my personal vehicles.
I like Jeep vehicles and figured CAP would be a good fit for me. I didn’t want to work on other brands, so what could be better than being trained on vehicles I like and drive. I began CAP at Sinclair Community College in 1997 and graduated in 1999. I am now the lead Driveability Technician at Tom Harrigans Chrysler-Jeep.
I recommend CAP to anyone wanting to become an automotive technician because of the acquired skills and leaning how to work independently. It also nice to work at a dealership as a CAP student because you train with a mentor technician and seasoned technicians share their knowledge. In the “old days” before CAP older technicians did not want to share ideas or help train a young person.
CAP gives you great training in a field were you can make good money plus the dealer may pay half of your tuition. Think about it, the money you save knowing how to repair your own car may pay for your part of the tuition."
