Academic Standards

Standards

Standards for Graduation To graduate from CAP, the student must maintain a cumulative minimum of grade point average of (GPA) of 2.0, which is considered average on a 4.0 scale. In addition, each student must complete all technical and general academic education courses and earn a 2-year Associates of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology (or similar study) to be considered a CAP graduate.

CAP CAP student performance is evaluated at the end of each dealer internship period. The performance evaluation is typically conducted by the dealership’s service manager in cooperation with the student’s assigned technician mentor and his/her college instructor. The CAP student is also expected to “look the part” of the professional technician with a neat and reasonable appearance while in the classroom and working at his/her sponsoring dealership.
