Technician Tools
Hand tools required for use by CAP students serve as the foundational tool set necessary for full-time employment as a service technician after graduation. Each CAP student is ultimately responsible for the cost of tools required to complete the program. Some students have also negotiated a loan/payment plan with their sponsoring dealership to help them secure the appropriate tools in a timely fashion.

The CAP College has the appropriate diagnostic equipment, special tools and electronic service manuals for CAP students to use while at college. A tool list is provided by each college to CAP students indicating which tools are required for each semester as well as those required to complete the program. CAP Colleges can also assist students in acquiring their own set of tools at a reasonable cost, from a respectable tool companies.

Most tool companies also offer special discounted rates (in many cases over 40% off retail) for tools purchased by students while they are attending college. CAP Students are encouraged to acquire as much of their projected tool set for full-time employment while attending college.

Tool prices substantially increase at most tool companies when you are no longer considered students and become full-time technicians.
